Message How many times do we have to tell you? It is NOT a fuel pressure regulator. The definition of a fuel pressure regulator is a device that REGULATES fuel pressure (we have exactly one of those from the factory and it happens to bolt to the plenum in the engine bay). What you're confusing with a regulator is a pressure RELEASE valve. Its job is only to release excess pressure, not regulate it.

And if you want to argue the abstract notion that a release valve does regulate pressure, I'd like to point out that, at idle, the FPR regulates pressure to about 44.1psi, whereas, according to Russel, that release doesn't open until about 80psi. Thus the release does not regulate fuel pressure.

Now tell me again, who needs to look into it? The one who knows what that thing in the fuel pump is or the fool who doesn't listen when he's told by no less than 3 or 4 knowledgeable people.
